Why the title?  The title was taken from an actual conversation that I had.  It's catchy.  I like it.  Do I believe it? No.  If our personalities and tendencies were all the same, this world would be a boring place.  Those of us termed as "up-tight" get it done---- and get it done fast.  There is a place for that.  Those who are laid back--- still get it done, in their own time and in their own way.  (Well, some don't get it done at all, but for the most part I think most of them do.) Do we CHOOSE to be uptight?  Is it nurture or  is it nature?  I'll say what I usually say about the nature/nurture question:  a little bit of both.  I'm not gonna lie--- I'm pretty sure if you look up uptight in the dictionary, there is a photo of my family (the one I grew up in when I was a child.)  Do I choose to be this way?  Sometimes.  Have I come a long way over the years?  YES.  Am I continuing to be better about it (more relaxed) in the future?  Most definitely. My life is changing for the better on a daily basis and will continue to do so.  When I turned 40, I finally took charge of my life.  Sad, but true.  I choose to make these changes for the better on an hourly, daily and monthly basis, etc. Am I too uptight to play jazz?  I'll play some and post the video someday.
